Job Description
This opportunity is a remote working position and Nearthlab is searching for an experienced wind-industry professional who can actively identify new customers for Nearthlab’s blade inspection services. The candidate will work as part of an international team with colleagues in the US, Korea and Germany. The aim is to market Nearthlab's autonomous inspection services to wind OEMs and asset owners. Detailed roles are as follows :
- Identify new clients and partners to build positive and long-term relationships. Ideal candidates will have experience managing the entire business development process from lead generation to deal closing. This role is a hunter-focused role, targeting new customer acquisition.
- Engage with customers to identify their needs/pain points and communicate the insights within the company to improve product-market fit.
- Lead EU sales activity as an integral part of the EU team (BD and operations). Communicate with the customer regarding pricing, operational preparations, project execution/delivery timeline.
- Coordinate with teams in Korea and Germany to calculate pricing, formulate strategy, and participate in competitive tenders. Participate in regular meetings with an international team (may involve out of typical office hour meetings)
- Participate in exhibitions, conferences to generate leads and also engage in periodic business to meet with prospective customers.
- Occasionally travel to customer wind farms to oversee project implementation, and demonstrations, sometimes with very short notices. Periodic international travel may also be required to support business development in other regions.
Mandatory Qualifications
- 7+ years of successful wind energy related business development experience. Experience with O&M is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Additional languages are a plus.
- Track record of identifying new business opportunities and driving results through collaboration with numerous stakeholders.
- Ability to excel in an unstructured, high pressure and fast-paced environment
- Able to flexibly handle multiple projects, time zones and business trips with no disqualifying traits in terms of visa applications or overseas travel
Preferred
- Familiarity with drones, SaaS sales or wind O&M service sales
- Experience working in international organizations with the flexibility to tend to different time zones
- Experience with blade maintenance related activities
- Experience working with offshore wind asset owners
